Course Description

This is a beginner’s course in obtaining a basic understanding of computers and how to navigate through the desktop of Windows or Mac OS X operating systems. We will provide the student with a brief history and understanding of the evolution of computers to its present state in this increasing digital world. The student will get an overview of how a computer works and its various hardware components and peripheral devices e.g., CPU, monitor, hard drive, RAM, mouse, keyboard, usb drive etc. that make the computer perform. You will also receive basic keyboarding understanding and get familiarized with desktop navigation along with some helpful tips and tricks for either Windows or Mac OS X depending on your PC or Mac preference.
